ThermoReserve AB · Modular thermal energy storage
Thermal energy, stored for when it matters.
ThermoReserve develops modular thermal energy storage systems that store energy when it is available and deliver useful heat when the site needs it.
High-temperature first, engineered as a configurable product platform from storage core to site connection.
Why thermal storage
Create flexibility between energy supply and heat demand
Thermal storage can create value when energy is available at a different time from when useful heat is required.
Shift energy in time
Charge the thermal reserve when energy is available and deliver heat later when the site needs it.
Reduce peak exposure
Separate part of the thermal demand from immediate electrical demand and create more flexibility around site constraints.
Use more available energy
Increase the usefulness of renewable electricity or recoverable heat that might otherwise be poorly timed or underused.
Applications
Start where thermal flexibility solves a measurable site problem
ThermoReserve is currently focused on commercial buildings and real estate, with industrial process heat and local energy systems as expansion pathways.
Commercial buildings & real estate
Thermal flexibility for properties with significant heating demand, renewable generation, electrification pressure or peak-power exposure.
- Commercial properties and portfolios
- Institutional and public buildings
- Sites with PV, heat pumps or growing electrical loads
Industrial & process heat
High-temperature storage can support selected industrial duties where electricity, recovered heat and thermal demand are not aligned in time.
- Process and utility heat
- Electricity-to-heat shifting
- Recovered-heat utilisation
Local & district energy
A longer-term pathway for multi-building, campus and local energy systems where thermal reserves can support coordinated operation.
- Local energy systems
- Campus and multi-building applications
- District heating and cooling pathways
Real-world validation
Validating the building pathway in Gothenburg
ThermoReserve’s first reference pilot is being developed at the Varis Commercial Building FlexHub, a real commercial property in Gothenburg.
The thermal-storage unit is progressing from stand-alone product testing toward building integration, with the pilot designed to generate measured evidence on thermal performance, control behaviour, site integration and replication learning.
Knowledge
Practical guidance for evaluating thermal energy storage
Start with the thermal service, operating conditions and evidence required, then determine whether storage is the right solution.

Could thermal storage strengthen your energy system?
If your site has meaningful thermal demand, a timing mismatch between available energy and heat use, and a measurable reason to create flexibility, it may be worth evaluating.
